NFL players stiff arm HGH testing

(CBS/AP)-you don’t think it would be easy, right? After weeks of hashing out a system for testing the NFL players for human growth hormone, the players Union has moved to stop the tests.

” We informed the NFL (Tuesday) disappeared collective agreements on several critical issues, the collection of blood was not ready to be implemented on Monday, ” the NFL Players Association said in a statement issued Wednesday. ” We encourage the players. ”

” We are very disappointed in the response, ” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said. It is contrary to the terms of the CBA and the agreement reached Friday with the Chairman and ranking member of the House Government Reform Committee. “

The test schedule to begin next Monday. The NFL and the players agreed to start an HGH blood test as part of their new collective bargaining agreement reached at the end of July–but only if the Union agreed to the method. The Union has put off implementing tests, ask for more scientific data to prove it is reliable.

One important item is the study of the population of the NFLPA sought-test data of the athletes who used originally set a limit to what constitutes a positive test. The Union, which want to compare that data with the population of the study on the soccer player, believes players get taller naturally HGH levels above those of other athletes.
