The President of the 10-campus University of California system also weighed in on the fallout from Friday’s incidents at UC Davis, said that he was “surprised” at the images of students doused with pepper spray and a broad assessment of plans, urging law enforcement procedures at all campuses.
“I beg the students who want to show to do so in a way that legitimate and peaceful. I hope the campus authorities to respect that right, “said UC President Mark g. Yudof. All an ideal Prime Minister will hold immediately for 10 discussions “about how to ensure that law enforcement response to non-violent protest in proportion,” he said.
Officials at UC Davis refused to identify the two officers who where administrative leave but one is a veteran of many years in the Navy and other “fairly new” for school Department, the Chief of police Annette Spicuzza told The Associated Press. He will not explain further because of the pending probe.
Videos are posted online the incident clearly shows one of the officers dressed in riot gear dousing the protesters with the spray as they sit in line with their hands. Spicuzza to AP that both officers identified during the review of some intense games.
